THE BROTHERHOOD OF ANGELS AND OF HUMANITY
The Brotherhood of Angels and of Humanity is a group of like-minded students and spiritual aspirants who have agreed to meet together for the purposes of co-operating with the Angels, in order to speed the process of spiritual evolution on Earth.
I started the group in the lecture hall of The Theosophical Society, 21, Glendower St., Perth, Western Australia on 24th January 1993 with a group of twenty interested people, but the concept was not originated by me - I just gave it contemporary organisation and relevance. It is based upon a great inspired ideal given to the world by the Theosophical teacher and gnostic seer, the late Geoffrey Hodson (d.1983) whose life and work you can read about if you examine my website http://geoffreyhodson.iinet.net.au . This vision for Angelic Co-operation is described in several of Mr. Hodson's books, particularly The Brotherhood of Angels and of Men (1927) which is now reprinted in a Quest paper-back. I have amended the original title slightly to indicate that this work is open equally to both men and women, although that was never in doubt from the very outset of the work. In this site you will be able to gain insights from Mr. Hodson and his archangelic teacher Bethelda (Hb. the angel of the house of God); occasionally I will also mention other important teachers such as C. W. Leadbeater, Eskild Tjalve, Marko Pogačnik and Michael J. Roads.
For the sake of convenience throughout this website the individualized spirits known as angels and the non-individualized spirits known as nature-spirits or elementals are collectively referred to under the name of "Devas" - a Sanskrit word meaning "the shining ones".
The Archangel Bethelda
The mission of the Brotherhood is based on altruism, it does not seek to make any monetary profit from the closer connection formed with the angels and nature spirits. If there is a benefit it is in terms of expansion of consciousness, an increasing insight into Nature's workshop, and in becoming a co-worker in the spiritual evolution of the Universe. These are privileges which no amount of money can purchase for a human being and such impersonal ideals should therefore be very much in the sights of those who would aspire to work in this area. There is some commercialism in this field and despite this for all I know, it may be possible to earn a living in the area and still retain the inner contact. Nevertheless, I am of the belief that the highest contact comes to those who can keep the monetary side as far away as possible by emphasizing impersonal service for the benefit of the world as a whole. Those who seek to exploit the angels and the nature-spirits for their own self-gain risk put themselves in the position of Glendower in Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part I - when trying to impress the Prince he says, "I can call spirits from the vasty deep." Hotspur replies, "And so can I, or so can any man, But will they come when you do call for them?"
Having said this and noting that many people in our times have some aspiration and compliance with the stated ideals, there is inherently no reason why we should not hope to draw close to the angels. This may happen to the pure in heart quite spontaneously and they may not need any advice from this website. However, if you do not have this genius and you are starting from further down the scale of ability and attainment you may find connection with our group of some help to you. The group itself is linked super-physically to Mr. Hodson and the archangel Bethelda, who continue to take an interest in it. The badge that I have prepared (shown above) for members of the group acts as a talisman giving linkage to the angelic energies. It has nine highly magnetized gemstones in the back of it which act as "lenses" and links with the Angels.
In the process of your connection with this work you will also see how other people have come to know the Angels and be taught by them, also that there is a close connection between the work of the angels and Earth's Hierarchy of illumined men and women - the Great Brotherhood of Adepts - and effective work in one area will inevitably in time bring you into contact with the other.
There are several ways in which the Angels can be contacted, but the way that has been chosen for this work - indeed chosen by the angels themselves - is through invocation, mantras and group dynamics - especially healing group-work. The rubric for the work is contained in this site. In due course, at a more advanced level, the Angels will contact you individually and become your teachers, but in the early stages the group method is a safe and secure entry into a world that ironically modern science knows nothing of, and yet without it the whole of life on Earth could not be sustained for one moment.
I hope that this site draws you closer to the Angels. Be assured they are willing to help and reveal themselves to those of us who can put behind us those human weaknesses of commercialism, selfishness and the quid pro quo and instead manifest the true spiritual qualities of purity, idealism, altruism, impersonality and love for all that lives.
